Tuning LED backlights for inspection tables

But has anyone quantified how 5000K versus 6500K, 90+ CRI LED backlights affect visibility of faint weft bars and oil streaks during inline inspection? On our frame last week, 6500K plus a frosted 1.5 mm diffuser raised true positives about 12% at a 0.8 defect confidence threshold, but also spiked false calls on dark twills. Looking for diffuser materials or angle-of-incidence tweaks that maintain contrast without glare.

Interesting results with the 6500K! Have you tried adjusting the diffuser angle for better contrast on darker materials? I’ve had some luck with that approach.
